Celtic got the breakthrough soon after when Hagan hit a ferocious free kick which the hosts keeper somehow kept out but he could nothing to stop McCloskey stabbing home the rebound. McCloskey near doubled his tally when he robbed the defender before beating two men but his left footed effort just missed the target.

The hosts came out fighting at the start of the second half but Celtic’s centre back pairing of McGahan and Devlin dealt with everything threw at them to keep Celtic in front.

Celtic went close from efforts from O’Neill and Hagan but they couldnt find the net. Shane Devlin had a great chance to extend the lead but his effort whistled past the post. Devlin made up for his earlier miss when good work from McCloskey released him in on goal and this time he made no mistake to seal the victory.
