Football: Larne aiming to book spot in final
The perfect fillip ahead of their biggest game of the season so far; that’s how manager Paul Millar (pictured) described the stunning comeback win over Championship leaders Ballinamallard United on Saturday.
“Our confidence was already pretty good but it has been boosted immensely by the 3-2 win in what was an absolute thriller at Inver Park – and it encompassed all that’s good in our play,” said the jubilant boss.
“Now we go to Seaview on Monday night (7.45pm kick-off) to take on a very decent Dunmurry Rec team for a place in the final of the prestigious Steel and Sons Cup. That’s a tournament which is very dear to the hearts of Larne folk and it would be wonderful if we bring it back to Inver Park after all these years.
