The Championship 1 outfit said the Cliftonville player was found to be in breach of club discipline.

“It has been decided to terminate the loan of Ciaran Murray with immediate effect,” a Larne statement read.

“Ciaran Murray will now return to Cliftonville for the remainder of the season.”

Murray had been suspended by the club for what it described as ‘inappropriate’ use of social media.

The Solitude loanee met with Inver Park officials on Tuesday evening (March 22) to discuss a Facebook post which the Times understands related to events surrounding St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Belfast’s Holylands area.

Murray was not named in manager Davy McAlinden’s squad for Saturday’s trip to Knockbreda, which ended in a 3-0 defeat.

It is also understood the centre-forward did not train with his team-mates on Thursday (March 17) - two days after Larne slumped to a Championship 1 derby defeat at Ballyclare.

Murray netted 11 times in 15 appearances and provided nine assists since his January loan move.
