Following on from the UEFA-led focus groups with the clubs, managers and other stakeholders, Millward Brown will lead the consultation with the fans and general public to garner their views on the direction the NI Football League will take the sport in the future.

Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in Millward Brown’s online survey via www.nifootballleague.com which was launched recently, while short telephone surveys will take place in the coming weeks.

NI Football League Managing Director, Andrew Johnston said: “The online and telephone surveys are a very important element of the research that the NI Football League and UEFA are carrying out.

“We are committed to listening to the views of all of our stakeholders and this is a fantastic opportunity for the fans and the wider public to become involved in what is perhaps the most important piece of research ever carried out on local football in this country.

“These surveys aren’t just for the die-hard supporter.

“They are for everyone who would like to give their views on our game in Northern Ireland.

“From regular fans to lapsed and non-fans, we ask you all to visit our website and take a few minutes to complete the survey.

“Our Project Steering Group will present the results from this research in March, with a view to achieving consensus about the preferred re-structure options for the NI Football League.

“It is hoped that a decision will be made in April on the future structure of the leagues and competitions based on the analysis results and feedback from the focus groups.”

The NI Football League will communicate the chosen option for the future structure of the leagues and competitions in May, 2014, and present a roadmap towards its implementation.
