FOOTBALL: MCS youngsters could take on Manchester United

Maiden City Soccer Academy have been invited to take part in a prestigious football competition this summer.

The Academy have just received confirmation of their entry into the Youdan Trophy in August, a professional tournament held in Sheffield England from August 1st until 5th.

Premier League giants Manchester United and currently leaders Leciester City are just two of the big names who will also be competing in the tournament.

Other teams who have also confirmed are Rosenberg, Sparta Rotterdam, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, Celtic, Real Vallecano, Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC with more from Asia and Africa to be announced.

The tournament is for 2001 and 2003 age groups.

With Scottish Championship leaders Rangers confirming that they will be back to defend their title this year.
