FOOTBALL: Rangers lose out to Swifts

Grange Rangers slumped to their third Amateur League Division 2C defeat on the spin when they were beaten 3-2 by Suffolk Swifts.

Following the departure of manager Stephen King, the Ballyclare side’s season continues to fall apart.

Evidence of this was all too clear as they conceded in the first minute and then again on four minutes to trail 2-0.

However they showed a little bit of fighting spirit to pull two goals back through Ryan Murphy on 23 and 34 minutes. Murphy and Chris Bell had chances give Rangers the lead, whilst Matt Cooper had an effort cleared off the line before half time.

Swifts scored in the first minute of the second half to seal the win while Jason Leitch’s lads struggled to create anything in the second half.

Grange Rangers: Heaslip; McCoy, Gault, White, Johnstone; Deegan, Cooper (C), Thompson, McCrindle; Bell, Murphy. Subs McMullan, McGookin, Simmons.
