There was little between the sides in a lively first half with both keepers having a good game but Peter Duffin broke the deadlock on 25 minutes when he fired Tobermore ahead with a well taken free kick from just outside the box.

Tobermore held the lead until ten minutes into the second half when some poor defending allowed Clydesdale space to slot home the equalizer from close range.

Tobermore were dealt another blow ten minutes later when keeper Paul Wells was rather harshly shown a red card for upending Thompson inside the box.

Daryl Magee took over between the sticks but could do nothing to stop Moffett’s well taken penalty and five minutes later the home side went 3-1 up when Martin Hughes, a recent signing from Tobermore, delightfully chipped the advancing Magee.

Tobermore introduced substitute James McGahan whose forward runs brought some urgency back into the visitors game and within ten minutes they were back on level terms with goals from Trevor Parkhill and Dean Stewart.

Duffin had a great chance to put Tobermore back in front but his header grazed the bar with the keeper well beaten and then, as regularly happens, the home side got a corner deep into injury time and the unmarked King nodded home the winner undoing all the good work of the ten man visitors.

Tobermore United: P Wells, M Harkness, D Magee, C McKenna, A Neill, D Stewart, B Kelly, S Heneghan, T Parkhill, P Duffin, R Winton.
