Forgrave grabs winner as Ports beat Sport and Leisure
Sport and Leisure, who are playing at Larne following a fire at their changing rooms, took an early lead, but after that Portstewart played some good football.
The visitors equalised from the spot, after Ryan Doherty was upended in the box, James Peden was on target leaving the score 1-1 at the break. McAllister’s side stepped up the pressure in the second half and hammered some long balls forward. However Portstewart defended well and had a few efforts in front of goal. Moments from the whistle Lee Forgrave grabbed the winner much to the delight of the visiting fans.

Hide AdPorts boss Gary Taylor praised his side on their performance, and added that Sport and Leisure were a strong side who gave his side a ‘good battle’.
“We were very strong in the last ten minutes, and to be honest their keeper pulled off a good save from Lee just before he scored the winner. It was a bit of a smash and grab, but we’re happy to take the points.”
He went on to praise teenager Dessie Kearney, who made his debut for the Seasiders on Saturday.
Portstewart face another away tie this Saturday, when they take on Coagh United.
“Coagh have been on a bad run, but they’ve signed a few players, and I know they will be looking to bounce back,” said Taylor.
