“Mark Forker has come in from Finn Harps and he trained with the squad on Saturday,” he said.

“He’s a player I have always liked and he’s only 26-years-old, while David Healy has returned from America and he also trained at the weekend.

“He’s a young 20-year-old striker who did well with Coleraine Academy before going to America. Both parties are having a look at each and then we’ll make a decision.”

The Drumahoe side, who after this evening’s game travel to North West neighbours Limavady United and also have a side take on Ardstraw on Saturday (KO 2pm) and Kee wants his players to step things up over the next few weeks ahead of the big kick-off next month.

“We are now three weeks into pre-season and I want us to kick on now,” he said.

“I want the squad to brush up on the intensity, game skills and work-rate over the next two games, because after this week we have another two games in the same day at Glebe Rangers and Portstewart (July 26), before facing Dundalk on Tuesday July 29.

“And if they have the same type of squad which played us recently then it will be a good game, which is what we want leading into the Premiership.”

Meanwhile one of Stute’s old boys Nathan Gartside made his debut with English Championship side Watford.

The teenage goalkeeper, who only recently joined the Hornets on a two year scholarship, came off the bench to replace ex-Tottenham Hotspur and Brazil net-minder Heurelho Gomes in their recent friendly win over SK Austria Klagenfurt.

Giuseppe Sannino’s side were leading 1-0 thanks to Lloyd Dyer’s goal when Gartside was introduced and despite only been on the pitch for 11 minutes it appears the 16-year-old has impressed Troy Deeney.

The striker tweeted: “Young pup Nathan has come on in goal I’m rating this lad only 16 but handles himself well.”
