Form team Mallardspose a big threat

The Mallards are one of the form teams at present and after losing 1-0 to Glenavon in early October they have put together a string of superb results including a League Cup win over Linfield, wins over Portadown and Warrenpoint along with a draw against champions Crusaders.

“They are flying at the minute and full of confidence,” said Glenavon manager Gary Hamilton.

“We are the last team to beat them. We had to work extremely hard that night at Ferney Park to get the win and we will have to work even harder to repeat that on Saturday.

“They are a good side, well organised and don’t concede too many goals. They have a bit of pace too and can hit on the counter very effectively.

“The key for us is to go out and work hard and take our chances. If we get ahead then that changes the game and they have to change their style of play.”

Conor Dillion is hoping he will have shaken off an ankle injury sustained in training while Kris Lindsay, Eoin Bradley and Hamilton are also back in the squad.

David Elebert hopes to begin light training this week.

Kick-off on Saturday is 3.00pm.
