Former Liverpool youngster Conor Quigley signs for Institute

Institute have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2020/21 season with ex-Liverpool youngster Conor Quigley joining.

The 22-year-old, who was a free agent after leaving Ballymena United at the end of the season, has signed a long term deal with the Waterside men.

Quigley, who played in 'Stute's friendly win over North West Junior side Foyle Wanderers last weekend, can play in a number of positions and is likely to feature in tomorrow's friendly at Ardstraw.

After the departures of captain Dean Curry and fellow defender Ryan Morrow, Quigley's addition is some welcome news for the club, who will be looking to bounce straight back to the Danske Bank Premiership.

The former Trojans' man, who was at Liverpool for two seasons, before moving to Swansea City and then going on-loan to a host of Scottish clubs including Dundee, Stirling Albion and Forfar Athletic, before he moved home in 2018 to play for David Jeffrey's side for a couple of seasons.

The natural left-back, who can also slot in at centre-back, during his time at the Showgrounds made 23 appearances for Braidmen scoring just once against Cliftonville on September 22nd, 2018, however last season he struggled to feature as experienced full-back Steven McCullough held the left-back spot.
