Foyle Cup: United face Hibernian in tonight’s final

BALLYMENA United under-19s are into the final of the Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup.

Clifford Adams’ side produced a heroic performance to beat hometown favourites Derry City 1-0 in last night’s semi-final at Ardmore.

Peter Duffin kept up his impressive scoring record in the tournament by grabbing the decisive goal.

United will face Scottish Premier League side Hibernian in tonight’s (Friday) final, again at Ardmore (7pm).

“I’m so proud of the boys - they have been a credit to the club and to themselves,” said Adams.

United may be without striker Neil Lowry - a player with significant first team experience - who sustained an upper arm injury in the semi-final win but on the plus side Jamie Davidson, who, like Lowry, has first team experience, is available after missing last night’s semi-final through suspension.
