Frew at the double for Mallusk men

Junior One: Carnmoney FC shared the spoils with Woodlands in a 10-goal thriller at Woodburn.

Woodlands’ goals were scored by Alex Haggan (three) and Jonny Parkes (two).

Mallusk Athletic returned from Tobermore United Reserves with another three points in the bag thanks to a 4-2 win. Henry Edgar gave them an early lead before Adam Frew doubled their advantage with 10 minutes on the clock. Tobermore pulled one back before Frew restored Mallusk’s two-goal cushion in the 39th minute. The home side clawed another back but Paul Brown had the final say with a 74th-minute strike.

Junior Two: Second-half goals from Stevie McGregor and James Brown helped Remo to a 2-0 win away to Cookstown RBL.

Ballyclare North End won 5-3 against Ballynure OB ‘B’. Ryan Davey put North End in front before Ian Boyd equalised for Ballynure. With half-time looming, Russell Lyness put North End back in front. Sammy Duff equalised for Ballynure but goals from Lyness and Ryan Davey saw North End go two clear. Conor Graham gave Ballynure hope with their third but North End had the final say when Robert Bonnes netted their fifth goal.

Elsewhere, FC Ballynure Reserves went down 3-2 to Sport and Leisure Swifts.

Junior Three: Kieran McAllister scored Rathcoole FC Reserves’ only goal in the 2-1 defeat to Wakehurst Strollers. John Alexander and an own goal gave the Ballymena men all three points.

Junior Four: Mallusk Athletic Reserves defeated 3rd Ballyclare 6-2. Adam Sloan, Jason Stirling (two), Adam Finn, Damian Della Croce (two) were on target for Mallusk.

Glengormley United lost 3-1 at home to Carrick-based Krag Albion. Jonny Robb netted a hat-trick for the visitors.

It was goals galore as Monkstown FC defeated Carnlough Swifts a staggering 16-0. The goals were scored by Ross Reid (three), Stephen Wilson (two), John Hawthorne (three), Darren Anthony, Stuart Dawson, Alan Snoddy (two), Dale Elliott, Robert Lough, Lee Wilson and Robert Purdy.

FC Whiteabbey made it through to the third round of the Canada Trophy with a 7-3 win over Clough Rangers Athletic. Martin Cousins (two), Gerard Southam (three), Kyle Rooney, and Conor Mullan found the net for the Whites.
