Full strength for Dergview tie

GLENAVON will be out in full force to ensure their progress to the quarter-finals of the Irn-Bru League Cup on Tuesday evening.

The Blues host Championship One side Dergview at Mourneview Park (kick-off 7.45pm) and boss Gary Hamilton says he won’t be resting any of his players for fear of an upset.

“The team will be as strong as possible because we want a good cup run and we don’t want to be on the wrong end of an upset. We’ll not be taking any chances,” he said.

“It won’t be an easy task because Dergview are a decent team and did well last season. They beat us in a friendly too so we know that they have a bit about them.

“Hopefully we’ll get a positive result and our name will be in the hat on Wednesday morning.”

Dergview have had a bit of a mixed bag of results so far this term, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their opening six league games. They did manage a good 2-1 victory over Newry City in the second round of the Irn-Bru League Cup and will now be looking to relive their 2-1 win over Glenavon in the 2011 pre-season in order to reach the last eight.
