“I was able to have the open freedom of the training ground watching coaching sessions for players aged nine through to the reserves and first team.

“I was really impressed with the homeliness of the club and how down to earth everyone was with no airs or graces.

“I was also privileged to watch the first team manager, Roy Hodgson, doing some coaching sessions as well has have a chat with him about player development.

“Roy has a reputation of not only being a terrific manager with fantastic knowledge of the game but also one of being a true gentleman.

“I for one can strongly endorse that reputation as he took time out of his busy schedule between a European and Premier League game to chat to me about the club and his philosophy on all things football,” added Gary.
