Next up is a difficult game at home to Glenavon, followed by outings against champions Crusaders and Portadown - a series of matches against top quality sides, with a league cup match against Bangor sandwiched in between,” stated the manager.

“The main thing is to give a good account of ourselves and we will then be happy with whatever that yields in the way of results and league points.”

Haveron will be without skipper Aaron Harmon who could be facing a lengthy ban after seeing red for what appeared to be an attempted headbutt on a Mallard opponent.

“We’re hoping it will only be a three-match ban, rather six games,” Haveron said.

“The alleged incident happened as Aaron was getting up off the ground and the pair came head-to-head and neither man was more guilty of anything than the other.

“In the old days when I was playing the referee would have called both players aside and said: ‘wise up, the pair of you’, which was what I believe should have been the case here.

“It was a blight on an otherwise tremendous performance. It was terrific to go all the way there and get a great result. The pitch was like a carpet, their facilities also terrific - which is something that is very nice when you have made such a long journey.

“We played some fantastic football, the was defence super, the midfield great and the front men played well.

“So it was a wonderful day and the three points won were massive in a match which we all knew very well was hugely important.”
