Gibson points the way to valuable away win

Indeed the only attack of note came on 17 minutes when from a Walker cross from the left Jordan Gibson rose high to

head back across goal but Queens keeper Brown pushed his effort away for a corner.

Whatever manager Gary Duke said to his team at half time worked as Dollingstown came out much more positive with Gibson and Thompson causing all sorts of problems for the Queens back four and Andy king was dominant in central mid field.

On 50 minutes the breakthrough finally came when Richard Thompson made a great run down the left channel before crossing for his strike partner Gibson who fired Dollingstown in front.

Then on the hour mark a great move involving Thompson, Gibson and Glenn Hand ended with Hand firing wide of the mark.

Queens had a good chance to equalise on 68 minutes when a good run down the left by Patrick Stuart saw the ball pulled back for Nigel Corrigan but he put his shot over the bar.

Thompson showed how it should be done when he wrapped up a fine second half performance by beating three defenders on the edge of the box before coolly slotting home.

A couple of minutes later Queens were down to 10 men when Corrigan was sent off for a second yellow card

Dollingstown then replaced Rodgers and Gibson with Lavery and Donaghy for the final ten minutes as they seen the game out to gain three very valuable away points.
