RACEVIEW 5

RASHARKIN UNITED 2

This was a very keenly contested game and one that having their keeper sent off on the 50th minute and their substitute keeper sent off on the 72nd minute cost them dear. Rasharkin started off well taking the game to Raceview and would have been worthy of a goal before Colin Craig scored to put Raceview in front on the 34th minute. Half-time saw Raceview still in front then on the 50th minute Andy Duncan scored a second for Raceview which Rasharkin disputed and led to their keeper being sent off. Raceview then pushed forward with Andy Duncan scoring his second goal in the game on the 69th minute followed by a fourth cored by Colin Craig on the 72nd minute. At this point the Rasharkin substitute keeper disputed this which in turn led to him being sent off by the referee. Rasharkin then hit a purple patch with Lee Barr converting a penalty on the 84th minute and Andy Calderwood scoring on the 88th minute. Matt Boyd then broke clear to score number five for Raceview on the 89th minute to complete a very important win for Raceview which illustrated the importance of taking your chances when they appear. Referee Mr. Hugh McElwee

CLOUGH RANGERS ATHLETIC 4 BALLYNURE OLD BOYS 1

Clough who having got a settled team since the new year and also a number of new faces will on this performance worry a few teams before the end of the season. Clough took the lead on the 22nd minute when David Nicholl chipped the keeper from the edge of the penalty box. Clough went two goals in front on the 38th minute thanks to a well taken goal scored by Ricky Reid giving them a nice cushion at half-time. Ballynure got back into the game on the 58th minute after Terry Lyness converted a penalty but Clough replied to this with Ricky Reid scoring his second goal in the game on the 69th minute. Time was then beginning to run down when Chris McDonald ensured all three points for Clough after he scored on the 78th minute.

Referee Mr. Mervyn McAleese

McREYNOLDS CUP SEMI-FINAL

BRANTWOOD 2

KILBRIDE SWIFTS 0

The result of this game between the two close neighbours was more or less settled in a two minute spell in the first-half when Brantwood scored twice. Both teams started off well then on the 25th minute Joseph McClenaghan scored to put Brantwood in front this being followed by a second goal scored by Matty Armstrong on the 26th minute. This was a bit of a hammer blow for Kilbride and though they had a chance or two never got back into the game with Brantwood progressing to the final.

Referee Mr. Raymond Bigger

JUNIOR DIVISIONS LEAGUE GAMES

DIVISION ONE

TOBERMORE UTD RES 0 BALLYCLARE COM RES 2

Both teams had chances to score during the first-half of the game but at half-time the only goal scored was one by Jonny Boyd for Ballyclare on the 44th minute. Ballyclare then doubled their lead on the 55th minute after Ricky McAuley scored on the volley. Tobermore tried hard to get back into the game after this but Ballyclare closed up shop and held firm for the win.

Referee Mr. Brian Leitch

KILLYMOON RANGERS RES 2 MOYOLA PARK OLYMPIC 1

This was a closely contested game and one that Moyola should possibly have taken a point from. During the first-half the teams played it very tight in mid-field thus very few clear chances were created around the goals resulting in not goals at half-time. Things changed on the 46th minute when Darren McGuigan scored the opening goal putting Moyola in front.

Killymoon got back on level terms after Andy Rea scored on the 75th minute and then as time was running out Paul Redford scored the winner on the 85th minute. Referee Mr. David Trainor

DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS 4 CHIMNEY CORNER RES 1

The swifts got off to a flying start after Glenn Wilson scored on the 5th minute but then saw the lead cancelled out after Ryan Gallagher scored for the Corner on the 25th minute. Half-time saw the teams still level then goals scored by Jonny Smyth and Ryan Glasgow on the 50th and 55th minutes saw the Swifts go two goals clear. This time there was no reply from the corner then on the 90th minute Darren Bartlett scored the Swifts fourth goal. Referee Mr. Mark O’Neil

BALLYMONEY UNITED RES 1 GLEBE RANGERS RES 1

Though only two goals were scored in this derby it was certainly a cracking game with both teams giving it their all for the entire ninety minutes. Both teams had a chance to score before Andrei Graur opened the scoring on the 20th minute in favour of Glebe. Ballymoney came back strong getting the equaliser after Nathan Patton scored on the 35th minute and at half-time this score remained. Play continued at a fast pace in the second half but no more goals were scored and at the end it was honours even.

Referee Mr. Martin Bellew

DIVISION TWO LEAGUE

CARNLOUGH SWIFTS 0 COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 1

This was a very evenly contested game but at the end it was the singe goal scored by the Olympic that divided the teams at the final whistle.

Chances came and went for both teams throughout the first forty five minute but when half-time came no goals had been scored, The second half started off in a similar vein as the first then on the 52nd minute Ryan O’Neil finished off a good move for the Olympic scoring what proved to be the winning goal which keeps his team at the top of the league table.

Referee Mr. Bert Purdy

RED STAR 0

WAKEHURST STROLLERS 3

The Strollers who had not played for a few weeks started off well taking the lead after Timmy Cunningham scored on the 25th minute. Half-time saw the Strollers still lead by the single goal then on the 56th minute they doubled their lead after Jon Alexander finished off a good move. Red Star tried hard to get back into the game but after Timmy Cunningham scored his second goal on the 81st minute the points were in the bag for the Strollers. Referee Mr. Lee Patterson

BALLYCLARE NORTH END 5 ANTRIM ROVERS 5

The spectators certainly got their monies worth in this game with the teams sharing ten goals between them. Aaron Gilmore put North End in front on the 19th minute then Darren Brammeld equalised on the 28th minute. Stuart Montgomery converted a penalty for North End on the 36th minute then goals from Jamie Jackson and Trevor Brownlee on the 39th and 40th minutes saw the Rovers in front at half-time. Ben Connolly increased the Rovers lead on the 57th minute but two goals from Robert Watson on the 68th and 78th minutes saw the teams back level.

Jon Floyd score on the 84th minute putting the Rovers back in front then in stoppage time Robert Watson converted a penalty to level the scores. Referee Mr. Trevor Higgins
