Glebe Rangers beaten by league leaders PSNI

Glebe Rangers made the trip to Newforge on Saturday hoping to pick up points and take them out of the relegation zone.

The visitors started the game well and pressed forward on every opportunity.

PSNI were reduced to ten men on 18 minutes when Anderson was red carded for an off the ball incident.

This advantage, left PSNI chasing the game and Glebe had a number of chances to take the lead.

The second half saw a much improved PSNI performance.

With time running out PSNI went for broke and launched attack after attack on the Glebe goal. They were rewarded on 90 minutes when Ashton McDemott eventually forced the ball over the Glebe goal line after yet another goalmouth scramble.

Glebe welcome Dundela to the Riada Stadium this Saturday. The game has a 3pm kick off.

Meanwhile, fellow Championship two strugglers Portstewart tasted their third defeat in a week on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by Coagh United.

Gary Taylor’s side met Moyola Park mid week and were beaten 2-0.

With five teams going down in Championship Two because of the league reshuffle, Taylor told Times Sport that it is ‘inevitable’ that his side will be looking at relegation.

The Ports travel to Limavady United this Saturday, the game has a 3pm kick off.
