Glenavon fall at Ballymena

DESPITE a late surge Glenavon failed to leave Ballymena with any joy on Saturday losing this league clash 2-1.

The opening goal for the home team had more than a bit of good fortune as it clipped off the unfortunate Sean McCashin before going into the net.

Guy Bates and Matty Burrows had chances to draw level before Conor Hagan bundled the ball home to equalise from Kyle Neill’s 70th minute corner.

However, having just got back on level terms the Lurgan Blues had hardly time to celebrate when they conceded a second goal whcih in the end proved their downfall.

Glenavon pushed right to the end and almost snatched an equaliser in the dying minutes but Hagan was unable to force the ball over the line as it dropped into the goalmouth.
