Kyle Buckley is the latest player to make a move out of Championship football and into the top-flight scene at Glenavon.

Buckley has followed in the footsteps of Andy Hall and Joel Cooper by signing on at Mourneview Park from the Irish League’s second tier.

“We consider James Singleton one of the best left-backs in the Irish League but he has been superb since moving into midfield,” said Paul Millar, the Glenavon assistant manager. “Therefore, rather than opt for another midfield signing to cover the loss of Ciaran Martyn to his Achilles injury, we instead looked at left-back options.

“We have high hopes Kyle can settle in the same way as Andy and Joel.”
