In front of a large crowd the young Lurgan Blues edged out the favourites with a patient and hard working display.

Conor McKendry scored the winner ten minutes from the end after a brilliant run by Shayne Lavery set up the chance.

Glenavon finished strongly with man of the match Mark Sykes having a penalty saved and Gary Lavery rattled the bar with a well struck free kick.
