Gary Hamilton’s side have a chance of moving three points ahead of Coleraine if they can clinch all three points.

Carrick may be struggling at the foot of the table, but they secured a superb 2-1 win over Coleraine in their last home match.

On their last visit Glenavon had to rely on a late equaliser from Hamilton to secure a point in a 2-2 draw.

“It is good the game is on,” said boss Hamilton. “You have to play them some time so at least we get it out of the way.

“The boys had training hard all of last week only for our game on Saturday to be called off, so hopefully we can go tonight and put in a good performance that will see us to victory.

“The pitch will not perhaps allow us to play we want to, but you have to adapt for situations like this and it is the same for both teams.

“Because of the pitch and with the cup tie ahead we may look at leaving a couple of players out, we have options, but we will put a team out that we hope can win the game.”

Despite Hall sitting this one out the manager sees this as a chance for another player.

“Andy has been unlucky picking up the bookings, but it is a chance for someone else. It is up to them to come in and play well enough to keep the shirt.”
