The Glens took their case to Sports Arbitration UK who on Saturday said they would not overturn the IFA’s ruling on the matter which was also ratified by the Northern Ireland Football League.

The controversy arose after Glenavon player-boss Gary Hamilton played and scored a hat-trick in the 4-2 win despite being sent from the dugout a week earlier against Linfield.

Glenavon were informed Hamilton had been sent off as a manager and not as a player and he was given permission to play at the Oval.

Hamilton later served a two-match suspension.
