Browne agreed a two-year deal with Coleraine at the weekend after a frustrating couple of seasons with Linfield, which saw him only make 43 appearance for the Blues, the majority of which were from the bench.

But he is determined to work hard at The Showgrounds to help fire his new club to glory.

“It’s been a frustrating time for me, but hopefully that is behind me now,” Browne told Times Sport.

“It just didn’t work out for me at Linfield but it’s behind me now and I’m just looking forward to a successful time at Coleraine.

“I spoke to a few clubs but Coleraine and Oran impressed me. There’s a lot of good players here. It was a great boost to keep Stevie Lowry and Howard Beverland, which is just what you need going into a new campaign.

“I just want to get my head down now and work hard, I know I’ll have to do that to get into the team as there’s a few good strikers already at the club.

“I feel though that if I get in the side I can score goals. It’s all about confidence, especially as a striker. It means a lot to have a manager who has confidence in your ability.”
