The 9s and 10’s were also in action with a number of friendlies against old friends North End and welcoming Coleraine Academy down for some exciting mini action on the 2g.

The senior u17’s were not to be outdone and made the long trip to Ballykinler before sealing a confident win to progress through in the NIBFA Cup. The 16’s had no game this weekend but it was a memorable one nonetheless for ex Academy boys Lorenzo Dawkins, Andrew Heaney and Andrew Smyth who stepped up and made their youth team debuts for the exciting United under 19 side.

BUYA 9, Castle Juniors 1: The Tullyglass Hotel sponsored Under 12’s hit top form, in particular ace marksmen Joshua Balmer and Ben Dallas who scored five and four goals respectively.

Both were helped by the unselfish running and link up play of Adam Millar and the dominant midfield performances of Mark Lowry and Scott Montgomery.

BUYA 6, Strabane Athletic 2: Seanie Macintosh made the most of his start and raced away down the right to finish well for the opener.

United extended their lead with a well worked short corner from the training pitch and repeated the feat shortly after, both assured finishes from Clough ace Jordan McMullan. An own goal helped the United cause before another solo piledriver from Bradley McCartney and Mathew Worthington squeezed home a very tidy effort.

BUYA 1, Derry Colts 3: Ross McCausland sent United on their way, finding space down the right before curling home brilliantly from the angle. This was the proverbial game of two halves,

the Derry men roared back at United in the second period and the tiring sky blues could not contain the Candy stripe pressure.
