New signings Matt Harkin and Conor Kelpie both were given a start and they marked their debuts with a few goals.

They broke the deadlock on seven minutes when ex-Derry City winger Harkin showed his class when put through by Thomas McBride and cooly slotted past the keeper.

Kelpie didn’t waste time on scoring on his debut, the former Caw man finishing off a great move by heading home.

Peter Allen’s side were rampant now and and Ricky Lee Dougherty clocked up number 36 and 37 of the season just before the mid-way point of the first half. Harkin added the fifth and his second before hobbling off, but this didn’t stop the home teams attacking threat with two goals more goals before half-time from the classy John Elliot and Dougherty completing his hat-trick.

The second half was something off a non event but Garth Falconer and Dougherty completed the rout. Newbuildings entertain Coleraine Res in the Intermediate Cup this Saturday (KO 1.30pm).
