There are three sides involved in Irish Junior Cup ties this week with three games also in the Premier Division.

Irish Junior Cup

BBOB v St Mary’s Reserves

The Old Boys usually do well in this competition and with home advantage they will be strong favourites to progress.

However manager Don
Olphert was not happy with last weeks draw with Caw where it needed a late Joe McCready goal.

The Portadown men play in the Reserve Division one league in Mid Ulster. They had a 2-1 away win at Lurgan BBOB Reserves last week but the standard wouldn’t be as high as the local league.

Prediction: BBOB

Donaghmore v Caw

The home side play their football also in the Mid Ulster league second division and they had a 2-0 home win last week so they can’t be underestimated.

Caw are still unbeaten and manager Paul McColgan has them playing with great belief. Away games are always difficult in this competition but they may prove good enough.

Prediction: Caw

Tullymore Swifts v
Donemana

The home side, who play their football in Mallusk, are a bit of an unknown quantity. However they are regulars in this cup and they have a decent record and they will be a tough nut to crack.

Donemana should be at full strength now that cricket commitments are out of the way. They are well organised and have a shrewd manager, they will also have a big travelling support.

Prediction: Donemana

Premier Division

Newbuildings United
Reserves v Lincoln Courts

Manager Glen Wallace would have been reasonably pleased with his side’s performance last week although they scored three he will be concerned with conceding four.

The Courts manager Kolyn Patterson will have been delighted to have reached the second round of the Irish Junior Cup, especially with three different players on the score sheet.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

Ardmore v Irish Street

The home side are still unbeaten and were in rampant goal scoring mood hitting seven last week. They have a big panel to choose from and manager Damien McGee has to keep them all happy.

Irish Street are in a bit of a mess they conceded nine last week and their confidence is shattered. This looks like a damage limitation game for them.

Prediction: Ardmore

Claudy Rovers v Tullyally

Both these sides like to play it on the ground. Rovers were made to fight all the way for their victory at Limavady Rugby Club last week where they were not at their best.

Tullyally have drawn two of their three league games so far this season, but they are still unbeaten.

There are sure to be goals in this one and it could end all square.

Prediction: Score draw
