Hide AdParsons crossing well into the box and Jordan Mark rose spectacularly with an overhead kick past the keeper. Ten minutes later Parsons made another powerful run down the right hand side and fired his cross onto the advancing run of Niall Maginn who smashed his effort in from a couple of yards.
Rathfriland continued to work hard all over the park, putting Damolly under pressure at every opportunity, however they were unable to extend their lead before half-time.
Rathfriland were slow to start the second half and let Damolly dictate play for the opening 15 minutes.

Hide AdEventually the home side got their rhythm back and began to exchange quick passes in advanced areas looking for openings.
The introduction of Gary O’Reilly 15 minutes from time increased the attacking threat, a cutting pass from midfield met the run of Gary O’Reilly who fired low past the keeper for Rathfriland’s third.
Moments later Daryl O’Reilly fired from 40 yards only to see his drive bounce off the crossbar, Norman Quinn unlucky not to convert when attacking the rebound. Moments later quick one touch passing through midfield left Quinn to slip in Gary O’Reilly who fired in his second and Rathfriland’s fourth.
A good team effort saw Rathfriland get their rewards on the day and maintain pole position in the League.
