Gransha lose

GRANSHA Institute will still be wondering how they lost 3-0 to Northside Stars, on Saturday.

Allan Blair’s side played really well in this game and had possession of the ball for long spells but for the second game running they failed to score and that was the difference between the two sides.

But take nothing away from Northside they took their chances and deserved the win.

The first half saw the ’Stute play very well but they were wasteful in front of goal and the game remained deadlocked at the break.

The second half was only minutes old when Northside went on the attack and Corey Wilson pulled of an excellent double save but his defence let him down by not getting the ball away and that allowed Gavin Canning to stroke the ball in to the net to make it 1-0.

Gransha Institute should have been right back in the game when Semple was pulled down in the penalty area but he saw the keeper save his spot kick and that saw Northside confidence boost.

Canning then scored his second goal of the game for Northside to make it 2-0 and near the end Brady scored to make it 3-0 but this young Gransha Institute should have learned something from this game.
