Division One: After the heartbreak of last weekend’s 5-4 defeat to rivals Castle Star, Woodlands rescued a point in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Cookstown Olympic.

Both teams started off playing it tight at the back and as a result of this few chances were created before Nigel Johnston broke the deadlock for Olympic in the 46th minute.

There was more of the same in the second half and just when it looked like the visitors would be travelling home with all three points, Alex Haggan scored the equaliser for Woodlands. Referee: Kenny Hayton

It’s back-to-back wins for Castle Star who won 5-1 over Killymoon Rangers Reserves at the weekend. Castle went in front through an early Warren Brown goal and they doubled their lead when Paul Garvey netted in the 10th minute. With half-time looming, Andy Hall scored a third to put the local side on easy street.

Hall went on to bag at hat-trick with goals scored in the 65th and 82nd minutes, before Killymoon pulled one goal back in the 88th minute.

Division Three: It was a Saturday afternoon to forget for 1st Carrickfergus OB who lost 5-1 away to Brantwood Reserves. Marcus Livingstone scored 1st Carrick’s only goal of the game.

Elswhere, Carrick Swifts were hit 6-0 by a rampant Wakehurst Strollers.

Division 4: Third-placed Forthriver lost 2-1 away at 3rd Ballyclare OB.

Canada Trophy R3: Carnmoney booked their spot in the next round with a 4-1 win over Red Star.

Carnmoney’s Ricky Thompson opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Stuart Thompson brought Red Star level on the half-hour.

After the break the home side regained the lead through Michael Streight, and Nigel Tweed scored number three in the 65th minute. Alan Harris ensured the win for Carnmoney when he rounded things off with a fourth goal, five minutes from time.
