“I know both Ciaran and Kris would play if I asked them, but I will always put the players first and there is no point in playing them on that surface,” added Hamilton.

“Ciaran is only back from a long term injury and Kris never really plays on it because his knees would swell up for days.

“Normally, I don’t change a winning team, but circumstances mean I will have to do that.

“It’s a chance for those young players coming in to play against the champions.

“We are on a good run at the minute but this will be a very difficult game for us, not just because of the players out but also the quality of the opposition.

“It’s a game you would be glad to take a point from, that does not mean we will go and play for a draw. I always go out to win every game, but a point would not be a bad return at all.”

As for the Irish Cup draw, Hamilton said it could not have been any better.

“At this stage to land a team from the league below you and be at home is a plus.

“However, we won’t underestimate Loughgall who are having a very good season.

“Our defeat to Annagh earlier in the season demonstrates how nothing can be taken for granted. We will watch them before the tie and do our homework.”

Following the trip to Seaview, Glenavon are at home to Glentoran on Monday night at Mourneview Park.
