Hard earned point for the Reserves

SEAPATRICK Reserves bounced back from last weeks disappointing defeat to Ballymacash by earning a hard earned point against the league champions St Mary’s.

The Reserves took the lead 20 minutes in when Mark Myles smashed a free kick into the roof of the net.

The Village kept up the high tempo and their lead could have been doubled before the half, with Mucker McGrath having a header cleared off the line and narrowly firing over after getting on the end of crosses from Sands and McAfee.

They continued to work hard in the second half and were unfortunate to be pegged back to level terms after 70 minutes when the St Marys front man had a shot deflected into the path of his fellow striker who was able to equalise with Andrews wrong footed.

The last 20 minutes was end to end, and Seapatrick had Andrews to thank for keeping them level after he tipped a shot onto the bar.

At the other end Scott Bradman was unlucky not to claim all three points for the Village when the St Mary’s keeper pulled off a good save from him with minutes to go. The Reserves will hope to build on what was an excellent team performance at home to Hanover next week.
