The three points take Watson’s team up to 11th spot and the manager was full of praise for his side’s timely upturn in performance.

“All the guys who played on Saturday afternoon produced the goods,” he told the ‘LEADER.’

“We went in at 1-1 at half-time and were disappointed with that but we came out very strong in the second half and got a good win.

“The team performance was very good and then you have Ally Wilson getting a hat-trick. He’s getting all the plaudits for that and deservedly so. It wasn’t just his goal-scoring but his overall performance was excellent.

“He has worked very hard since he came to the club and sometimes he hasn’t got much service. It was great that he got that on Saturday and that he finished things off very well. He’s as fit as he has been in years and his goals were just reward for him.”

The trip west also showed the togetherness of the Town squad, who are determined to keep pushing up the league table and away from the Championship Two relegation battle.

“We had four or five of the players who are out injured travelling up with the team on Saturday, which was great to see,” said Watson.

“We’re all in this together, pulling in the same direction and it was great that those guys came up with on the team bus to Coagh and did their bit to help their rehabilitation.

“We’re all pulling the same direction. Glen Waddell has been a massive help to me as Assistant Manager too. He’s been great while he’s still playing as well and he’s working very well alongside Neil Watson and Stephen McCreanor.

“We’re all very much together and hopefully we can keep performing to the same level and keep picking up results.”
