Haveron took over from former Northern Ireland international Michael Hughes last week, and cast his eye over the squad in Saturday’s 2-0 friendly win over PSNI at Taylor’s Avenue.

“I’ve loved it so far and I have discovered that there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye, a whole list of wee things that I didn’t expect,” he admitted.

“A manager has to get involved with things like budgets, dealing with forms, complaints and problems which the players may have.

“And, naturally, the biggest headache will be trying to pick 11 starters from a squad of 25. At least I didn’t really have a big problem for my first game in charge, everybody getting 45 minutes on Saturday.

“It was actually a decent performance and a good result against a decent team which played some good football.

“This Saturday we will hopefully have another friendly, at this moment I am hoping to set up a match against Championship Two side Wakehurst. And I want another positive display and good result before we go into the tough match against Championship One leaders Dundela on Saturday week.”
