Heavy defeat for Rangers

Dunmurry Rec 5

Rathfriland Rangers 0

After a string of poor results Rathfriland Rangers wanted to go to the outskirts of Belfast and get a result.

The Whites travelled to Ashley park in Dunmurry to take on Dunmurry Rec who with only for games remaining are sitting mid table.

Rathfriland started strongly and created a few early chances through Costello and Mackin, but they couldn’t find the target.

The Whites suffered a blow a few minutes before half time, when Dunmurry scored.

The team remained confident, however disaster struck when the referee gave McGrath two yellow cards in the space of a few minutes.

This changed the game significantly.

Dunmurry doubled their lead shortly after and any hope of the Whites getting a result was slipping away. Three cheap goals in the last 15 minutes put a shadow on a positive first half performance.
