Hill expects duo to make an impact

Ballyclare boss Eddie Hill expects new signings Randal Reid and Andrew Simpson to make an impact at Dixon Park.

“These two players, aged around 27, should be at their prime,” said Hill, “and I expect them to make an impact.

“Reid has gained experience with Coagh United, Ballymoney United and Ballymena United, and was with Randalstown Sky Blues last season.

“I played alongside him when I was with Ballymena so I know his capabilities, and if he manages to gel with Chris Trussell they could form a formidable strike partnership.”

“Simpson has been skipper with Nortel for the past couple of seasons, and is known to be a box-to-box worker in the engine room.

“He is a proven ball winner with plenty of energy, and he will give us options in the crucial central midfield position.”

He added: “I wanted to freshen up the squad, and the capture of these players injects experience, and increases healthy competition for places.”
