Hunter rolls back the years in rout

GLEN Hunter rolled back the years when he scored two goals for Ballymacash YM II to give them a 7-2 win over Roseville, their first victory of the season, recently.

Lisburn man, Hunter, holds the Crusaders goalscoring record with 157 goals in 296 appearances, breaking Curry Mulholland’s record which had stood for 40 years. He won two Irish League championships with the “Hatchet Men”.

Glen also played for Linfield, Ballymena Utd and Lisburn Distillery and has scored 350 goals in his Irish League career. He finished his youth playing career with Lisburn Utd and now aged 44 he is back in Lisburn after signing for Ballymacash YM.

Other scorers for Ballymacash were Stephen Elder 3, Johnny Sloan and Noel Brookes penalty. Neil Marshall and Willie McDonald got Roseville’s goals.
