Hutton starts off with defeat

The Brandywell men, who for long periods dominated things but never really tested Cork goalkeeper Mark McNulty, were hit by two quick fire goals in the first half.
Cork took the lead on 15 minutes through Billy Dennehy’s penalty, after the ex-Derry winger was softly awarded a spot-kick by referee Rob Rogers after he went down easily under the challenege of Shane McEleney.

Doherty denied Mark O’Sullivan a third just before the break, tipping the striker’s header onto the bar and O’Sullivan was denied by the woodwork again in the second half this time his close range header hit the bar.
The visitors were themselves denied by the woodwork on 57 minutes when Michael Duffy’s header into Ryan Curran’s path saw the young striker’s well hit half-volley from the edge of the box, which had McNulty beaten, rattle the bar.
