Institute boss felt back line did well

They showed encouraging signs at title chasing Portadown on Monday evening, as they battled hard at Shamrock Park.

Despite conceding two goals Kee felt that the back four of Graham Crown, Stephen O’Donnell, Paddy McLaughlin and Graeme Taylor along with goalkeeper Martin Gallagher played reasonable well.

“I thought the defence did well in fairness, yes I’m disappointed with the nature of their second goal, but we’ll get that sorted out this week at training,” he said.

“Yes we can take positives from the game, but at the end of the day there’s no points on the board, but as I have said, we have to learn and learn fast.

“The nature of the game was we had to dig in and dig in deep and we did that, we had chances to score on the counter attack, which we knew we would and that’s why we played a 4-3-3 formation, which we knew would turn into a 4-5-1 system if we needed.

“So our tactics I think we got them right and conceding that late goal was such a disappointment.”
