Deery felt everyone played their part in the victory and the quick turnaround from the frustrating 0-0 draw at Dergview, they got back to winning ways at Tandragee Road.

“The disappointment of the draw at Dergview and we had a quick turnaround so it was a big win for us,” he said.

“It wasn’t the easiest of games but we created chances again and thankfully we got the two goals, which were needed.

“I felt we huffed and puffed a wee bit, we were a wee bit edgy but then we got the wee break we needed with the penalty, but you take them and thankfully Shane (McGinty) scored.

“We looked really strong after Shane’s goal, which was encouraging for me, but to be fair I always know that if we go ahead in any game it’s very hard for teams to get back into it, because they have to open up and we look really dangerous on the counter attack.”

The 2-0 success at United meant that goalkeeper Marty Gallagher kept his eighth clean-sheet in a row in all competitions, which was another pleasing aspect for Deery.

“It’s a great run Marty and the defence are on, but the attacking players and midfielders have to take a great amount of credit as well because they are taking the pressure off the back four, with their good attacking play and playing in their opponents team’s half.

“So it’s an all-round team effort and we are really proud of our goals against column.”
