In fact Kee had originally asked his players prior to their trip to league leaders Crusaders, to get four points from their next three matches.

“I challenged the players before the Crusaders game to try and get a minimum of four points from our three games before the split, so obviously now we have to try and get something out of the next two games,” he stated.

“There is no room now for error or complacency and we have to try and maximise every game and the only thing I’m interested in is the team above us and see where that takes us.

“If we can stay on their heels and catch them then that’s what we’ll hopefully do. I know a lot of people have written us off because of our results and probably rightly so, but it’s up to the players and the staff to try and do something about it.”

Kee will have a full squad to choose from, as Dean Curry, Aaron Walsh, Mark Forker and Darren McFadden are back from suspension.

“I have a full deck of cards to select from now and I think that’s going to be difficult for players as there are going to be ones missing out this week. Walsh had a hamstring problem so him missing the last two games has given him a bit of a rest and hopefully that will give him a bit of freshness to his game,” he added.

“Dean Curry has done OK and he’ll come back into contention and although he was suspended McFadden was sick last week and by all accounts he was in his bed most of last week, so we’ll see how he is this week.”

Kee also laughed off the suggestions that the Blues come to Drumahoe in somewhat a poor run of form.

“I know it’s going to be a very tough game because if they are going for the league title they’ll be as professional as they possibly can be and they’ll be looking for the three points,” he said.

“They had a disappointing result against Portadown in the Irish Cup and that kind of gave them a wee kick and they got themselves back on track against Warrenpoint Town, on Saturday and apparently they played quite well, so we just have to make sure that we are prepared for them

“We know that we’ll have to be at our best and we need to try and get a win from somewhere because this run of results without a win is causing us problems.”
