Now that they have finally secured a league win, Deery wants his side to kick-on from the Lurgan Celtic performance and start moving up the Championship One table.

“We have to believe in what we are doing and the win is a real lift for us because the three or four days training which the boys are doing, all that hard work paid off on Saturday,” he said.

“But that hard work is what you have to do to start climbing the table.

“We will go about our work at training this week again prepare for Ballyclare and back to back wins puts you right up the table and

that’s what we’ll be pushing for.”

Ballyclare have had somewhat of an in different start to the season.

They too have only had one league success and they know a win for the Waterside men could see them being leap frogged by Stute.

Despite this Deery is expecting a tough encounter against the draw specialists.

“They have drawn four games already this season so because of that it’s going to be difficult,” he added.

“But if we play the way we did on Saturday and get consistency in our game, then we’ll be a match for anyone in the league.”

Institute have only lost once at home this season in all competitions and Deery wants to keep that impressive record intact and with games against Armagh City and Donegal Celtic on the horizon, Stute have a chance to build a wee bit of momentum.

“We have only lost at home to Annagh United and we probably didn’t deserve to lose that game, but we are determined to keep the Riverside Stadium a fortress, we have Ballyclare at home so we’ll be looking to build on that,” he continued.

“We have to look to improve our game, because I feel we can go up to another few levels and that will happen as the players continue to get fitter.

“I see it every week in training and I believe in them, so I’m glad they now have got something to believe in themselves by getting the three points.

“We face Ballyclare and win means we would go level with them on points, then we have Armagh City away and then we face Donegal Celtic, so we are facing sides who are in and around us, so it’s three weeks now where we need to be picking up maximum points and moving up the table.

“But I and the players are only focusing on the Ballyclare game, that’s our most important game, as it’s our next game.”

Stute welcome back Jamie Dunne from suspension, while Dean Curry is extremely doubtful with a groin problem and having re-joined the club Declan McKeever may need another couple of weeks training under his belt before getting involved with the first team squad.
