INSTITUTE: Jamie McIntyre struggling with knee injury

Institute boss Kevin Deery admits the winger Jamie McIntyre is struggling ahead of the start of the season.

McIntyre has missed a lot of pre-season because of a knee problem and because of that the Stute boss has to ease him back in slowly.

“Jamie is strugging with a knee injury and he has had an unfortunate pre-season,” said Deery.

“He hasn’t really got to take part in anything so we’ll have to work hard with Jamie and get him back to where he was, but he’s still going to be a big player for us this season.
“We need competition for places as we are trying to build something at Stute.

“Both Jamie McIntyre and Jamie Dunne in particular are still early in their careers and we don’t want to lose young players like those two.
“But hopefully the competition for places will help everyone.”
