Institute were rocked with the news that duo Graham Crown and Aidan McCauley have both decided to leave the Waterside club.

Crown has surprisingly decided to walk away and looks set to be joining Intermediate side Newbuildings United, while McCauley is believed to have got frustrated by the lack of first team action.

Deery confirmed that the club’s captain has departed much to his disappointment.

“It’s disappointing for everyone at the club, myself included but Graham has just decided to part company with the club,” he added.

“The Newbuildings manager has spoken to me about Graham and I think he’s going to sign for them for the rest of the season, but it’s really disappointing.

“For whatever reason why Graham has decided to go I felt we could have chatted about the situation and basically we could have come to a better conclusion than this but that’s football.

“I want to wish him well because he has been a great servant to this club but it’s his decision that he wanted to leave.”
