Irish Cup draw

COAGH United and Killymoon Rangers were the only two local sides in the hat for the fifth round draw of the JJB Sports Irish Cup. The two local sides were joined by all of the Irish Premier League sides in the draw which took place at the Grand Opera House.

Coagh United were drawn against Championship 1 outfit Loughgall. Killymoon Rangers will face a massive test when they host Premiership strugglers Carrick Rangers. Both teams are at home and the ties will take place on Saturday 14th January.

A Coagh United spokesman who attended the draw admitted that whilst they may have been hoping for a big name, it was nice to get a home draw.

“First of all it is great to get a home draw. Playing against Loughgall is often viewed as a derby match for us. There is a great rivalry between the two clubs. We are really looking forward to taking on a team from a higher division.”

Coagh now face three home games in a row over the next month. On 31st December, Coagh host Killymoon Rangers at Hagan Park with a 2pm kick off. The following week United will host Glentoran Reserves in the Intermediate Cup on 7th January with a 1.30pm kick off. They then host Loughall in the Irish Cup.

Killymoon Rangers host Carrick Rangers in the Irish Cup and will be looking forward to taking on the Premiership strugglers.
