IRISH LEAGUE: Eoin Bradley at the double as Lurgan Blues see off Ballymena United

The strapping centre froward grabbed his first through a wonderful free-kick before running clear of the United defence to grab his second of the afternoon.

It was a great all round performance from Bradley but he was just glad to get the three points.

“It is good to get on the score sheet because last week I missed a few chances. So it is good to score again.

“It was a good game, a good team performance and we needed that. It has taken a while to come but hopefully this can be the start of it.

“We have had too many draws this year and they have been killing us. But this is not an easy league and any team can beat another one on any given day.

“Hopefully now we can go on a wee bit of a run but we have a very tough November with Linfield and Cliftonville so we will need to be at it.

“And this win will give us confidence going into the next few games,” he added.

Glenavon’s other goals came from Ciaran Martyn, a Jim Ervin own-goal and one from Greg Moorhouse.

And Ballymena boss David Jeffrey - who had just watched his side’s ten match unbeaten run come to an end - was not too critical of his side.

“This was a reality check and to be honest this was a day where we could have played for the rest of the day and still got nothing.”
