Irish Under 25 Pairs Title for young Ballymena bowler
THE FINALS of the IWBA championships took place recently. Ballymena's Sile Garvey had paired up with Ashley Rainey (Ewarts) and they played Pauline Dunseith (Belmont) and Courtney Meneely (Ewarts) in the final.
Both of the pairs won a set and so the final went to a three end tie break. It did not look good for the Garvey / Rainey combination as they conceded 4 shots over the first 2 ends, however they played a tremendous third end and scored a full count of 4 shots to send the match in to a deciding end.
This was a very tense affair however it was the Garvey / Rainey who claimed victory earning them the right to play in next year’s British Isles Championships which are to be held in Scotland.
