Michael Moore’s 83rd-minute strike sealed the Wilbourne Park outfit’s first victory in the Amateur League’s Premier Division this season.

Now the boss is hoping the result will signal a change in fortune for his men as they prepare to entertain bottom club Dromara Village this weekend.

“We have been playing well, but we just haven’t been getting the results,” Donald told the Times. “The players know they are playing well enough and we have got a good side, but we are just not getting any luck.”

He added: “We have Dromara this week and we will not be taking it any easier than last week. We’ve had a few missing over the past few games, but I think we have got most of the squad back.

“I’m hopeful, more than confident, going into this one. If we play the way we played on Saturday, we will be OK.”

Islandmagee’s Premier Division match with Dromara Village kicks off at 2 pm.
