Joy as John wins Milk Cup Bowl

LISBURN footballer John ‘JD’ Donnelly was celebrating recently when he won the Milk Cup Bowl with Co. Antrim at the prestigious Milk Cup.

John, from Lagmore, proudly represented the City of Lisburn and Co, Antrim in the Premier Section of the tournament.

To add to his joy, John was the player to get the deciding goal for Co Antrim in the final.

After drawing to Benfica in their opening match, Co. Antrim went on to lose 1-0 to Cherry Orchard, who finished fourth in overall competition, and 2-1 to Pachuca (Mexico).

Following all other results the local side were placed against Ichifuna (Japan - defeated by Man Utd 2-1) in the Milk Cup Bowl semi-final, which they won 3-0.

In Thursday’s final the team would again face the Mexican side Pachuca, with the final finishing 2-1 to Co. Antrim.
